What is a lobster clasp?

The snap fastener is a popular clasp for necklaces and bracelets , and is particularly suitable for delicate pieces of jewelry. In English, the snap fastener is called a lobster claw clasp. The reason for this is that, thanks to its more elongated shape than the spring ring, it resembles the claws of a lobster.

The functionality

A small spring is integrated into a snap fastener, which ensures that it can be opened and closed. It is opened using a small lever that looks similar to the trigger of a gun - hence the alternative English term "trigger clasp". The clasp is attached to one end of the chain using a small ring.
