Memoir ring or memory ring?
The memoire ring has many different names. However, the term memoire ring, which is derived from French, or the English name memory ring, is mostly used. This piece of jewelry has a very special concept: to capture particularly impressive moments in life in the form of diamonds - be it the birth of your child, a special anniversary or other unforgettable events. Memoire rings are also wonderfully suitable for enchanting wedding rings , but also for stacking and engagement rings and can be optimally combined with one another. In this context, the term eternity ring (or alliance ring) has also become widespread in English - in the sense of eternal love.
The appearance of the memoire ring
Memoire rings are characterized in their basic model by being set with a row of uniformly designed diamonds all around. Often, however, only a single diamond is initially set in the ring - diamond by diamond, experiences can then be symbolically captured in this piece of jewelry. The choice of frame
There are basically three different options for setting a memoire ring . A very common variant is the channel setting, in which the gemstones are set by two lateral rails made of the precious metal of the ring rail. In this setting, the diamonds are adjacent to one another and form a continuous row. An alternative to this is the so-called bar setting. Here, a diamond and a piece of precious metal are set alternately on the ring rail, so that more light can enter the gemstones from the sides, making them look more impressive and brilliant. If, on the other hand, several rows of very small diamonds are fixed with a pavé setting, this also creates a beautiful effect on memoire rings. Since in this case only tiny beads of precious metal serve as a holder, the impression is created of an uninterrupted, shimmering coating of gemstones. In rare exceptional cases, the prong setting is also used for this piece of jewelry.
